The BEU Negotiations Team and the Brookline School Committee (BSC) met for the first time since July.

After two and a half hours of negotiations:

* The BSC finally agreed to bargain in the presence of our silent representatives

* Both sides agreed to pay all Paraprofessionals an extra $1.25 hr, retroactive to September 1st. That is an average raise of over 5%!

The BEU has filed an unfair labor charge against the school committee for “direct dealing” by asking our members for their ideas where to cut the budget while we are in negotiations over issues over budget priorities.
