The School Committee is forging ahead with expenditures on central administrative staffing, equipment, and teacher assignments that focus on increasing the amount of time spent by educators on turning teaching and learning into data. Rather than negotiating proper staffing and daily school schedules that allow educators educators to focus on meeting the needs of students, the School Committee has been increasing your time spent on generating, recording, and submitting data.
The Brookline School Committee has been unwilling to agree to contract changes focused on teaching the whole child.
Next negotiations sessions are November 16 and November 30. We have asked to address our proposals for paraprofessionals on November 30. The Action Team met on Friday, November 6 and mapped out the next phase of the campaign to win a fair contract. They need your support and that of the entire membership.
Please commit to participating in any or all of the contract campaign actions here. Link to sign-up will be on the BEU Groupsite and the closed Facebook page “Brookline Educators Union”
